In the Rider–Waite–Smith deck: she sits between a black pillar marked B and a white one marked J, a scroll marked TORA in her lap, a crescent moon at her feet and a veil of pomegranates behind her.
Her pillars recall Boaz and Jachin at the entrance of Solomon's temple. Many readers see moon goddesses and Persephone, with her pomegranates, in this card.
Meanings follow A. E. Waite's The Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1910) and common modern readings; astrological attributions follow the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Links between cards and goddesses are modern associations.
